        About

My education and training include a doctorate in combined clinical, school & counseling psychology from James Madison University and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Cooper Hospital.

I have 17 years of experience providing neuropsychological services to children, adults and their families. I have worked in a variety of settings including my independent practice, a rehabilitation hospital, academic medical center, and a community mental health center. I was also a faculty member in the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University where I directed the School-Based Neuropsychological Assessment Clinic. This breadth of experience has allowed me to obtain expertise evaluating and treating children and adults with various conditions including learning disabilities, ADHD, concussion, traumatic brain injury and dementia as well as anxiety disorders and depression. Also, it has allowed me to develop expertise consulting with professionals from both public and independent schools as well as physicians from several areas including pediatrics, primary care, sports medicine, psychiatry and neurology.

In addition, to my clinical practice, I am an Associate Professor in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology of Chestnut Hill College (CHC). I teach doctoral level courses in neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment and have served on the Disability Services Committee for the past 10 years.  I also present research at professional conferences and publish articles in professional journals focusing on various topics including concussion and neuropsychological consultation with school personnel. My experience as a professor and researcher have allowed me to expand my knowledge and skills and develop expertise consulting with college/university disability services personnel. Please see the teaching and research page for more information.

Finally, I am the Founding Executive Director of the Center for Concussion Education and Research of Chestnut Hill College where I led a team that developed a novel peer concussion education program for collegiate athletes with funding from the NCAA-DoD Mind Matters Educational Programs Challenge. (You can navigate the Center for Concussion Education and Research website below). These experiences along with my my clinical training have allowed me to develop expertise in evaluating athletes with persistent post-concussive symptoms.
